Day program Havana Varadero 21 hours clases 2011
26 march until 8 april - 30 april until 14 may - 15 oct untill 30 oct
Havana Pure is the base of all our dance holidays in Cuba. In week 1 you will have a intensive dance course at our danceschool in Havana. In the 2nd week you will have the choice to spend time in either Varadero, Trinidad, Santiago de Cuba, Playa del Este for 4 days, or to stay in Havana. The last 3 days we will all be back in Havana, where we will spend the next 2 days at the danceschool to get it truly right and end the trip with a big Fiesta Cubana.
Day 1) Arrivel at Havana
Arrival at the airport of Havana, where Pedro and Alex are waiting for you to take you to your hotel or casa particular.
Day 2) Start dance classes and for every participant an own dance partner
In the morning we start off with an welcome drink and a short explanation of the dance program. After this you will get a short tour through Havana Vieja (the old town) mainly to show you where you can find the important shops and the bank. In the afternoon the real dance program will start. The team of viaDanza will give you demonstrations of dance styles and tell you about the history of the Cuban music and dance. Afterwards every participant will be appointed an level of experience in salsa and you now will get your own dance partner.
Day 3) Lessons at the dance school in Havana
After breakfast you will go to the dance school in Havana where you will participate
the lessons from 10:00 am till 1:00 pm. In the afternoon you can bring a visit to the “Castilla de la Fuarza”. This Castilla is the oldest fortress of Havana. Here you can look at the famous statue “La Geraldina”. This female figure is the symbol of Havana. You probable recognise her from the Havana Club rum label. At night we go party again with the group.
Day 4) A visit to the rum museum and a salsa matinee
In the morning you start off with your daily three hours dance classes. Afterwards
you can join one of the tours through the rum museum at Havana. In the afternoon
it is possible to join the group to visit a salsa matinee at one of the Casa de la Musica”.If you decide to do something different this day, we like to suggest a stroll at the “Malecon”, also known as the boulevard of passion. At night we go to another salsa club or concert.
Day 5) Ernest Hemingway tour
After your dance classes in the morning you can wander around in the old part of the city. There is also the possibility to have a small Hemingway style bar crawl. In Floridita, the favorite bar of this famous writer, you can enjoy a fredhly made daiquiri, a drink created by "Papa", as the Cubans used to call Hemingway. Another interesting bar is "La Bodequita", the place where the mojito was invented. Search in this bar between all the other autographs and scribbles on the wall the autograph of Hemingway. At the end of this day we'll be swinging the night away with lots more salsa.
Day 6) The dancefloors of Havana where it's hip and happening every night
Goodmorning! Today you will have your last dance classes of the first week.
You have had 5 course days now and even the beginners should be able to fully enjoy Havana's nightlife and dance the night away. For some, that booked Havana Pure, this really will be the last class and especially for them we organize a going away party.

Day 7) Sun, sea and beach in Varadero
We leave Havana behind us for a few days and travel towards a well earned beach holiday in Varadero. The name Varar stands for beach and that is excactly where you will be the next 5 days. Bounty white beaches, deep bleu seas and drinking cocktails under one of the many palmtrees.
Day 8) Sleep in at last !
Sleeping in, having breakfast, finding right position in your sunchair, reading your favourite book, a nice refreshing dive inthe sea and sunbathing. In contrast to Havana we let you relax and enjoy the Carribean atmosphere and all that "All inclusive ' accomodation in Varadero has to offer.In addition to all the beach pleasures Varadera has a lot to offer to spend the day. In the centre you will find beautiful squares, little shops restaurants and banks. If you feel like a taste of Slasa you can visit Casa la Cultura, the perfect place. In the evening you can visit the "Marina Puerto sol Dársena de Varadero" in Lagua de Paso Malo.
Day 9) Diving, snorkling and swimming with dolphins
Let yourself be taken away by the gorgous underwaterworld of Cuba. In cayo Piedra del Norte you can dive at shipwrecks of look around in the underwatercaves who have been discovered only resently. The water is cristalclear so a day of snorkling is also very much worth it. Only 10 minutes drive from Varadero there is an seaaquarium, a naturel convined bay. There's 3 shows a day and yoy can have the unforgetabl experience of swimming with the dolphins.
Day 10) City of Matanzas
Our last day in Varadero. When you want to explore more then we can advise you to visit the province city of Mananzas. On your way to this city you will pass Rio Canivar. You can float this river and its beautiful rainforest by booking a boat ride with Cubamar. The evening we will spend together enjoying the culinary offer of our hotel and we will discuss our trip back to "spicy" Havana.
Day 11) All together again
Today all our fellow students come back from Varadero, Trinidad, Santiago de Cuba and Playa del Este. We'll have a reunion in Havana at the "Grand Dame der Caribien"where everyone can share their experiences over a cool drink on a terrace. In the night ofcourse we dance together the night away again..
Day 12) Back to school
In the morning you will have another salsa lesson and you will get all the space to perfect your salsa figures.In the afternoon you are free to 'yet again' explore Havana city and visit all those places that you have not seen yet and believe us you are still not able to see all that Havana has to offer. At the end of this day we'll be swinging the night away with lots more salsa.
Day 13) Farewell party
Today you can look forward to a real Salsa day! We will drive (by bus) to a location where we can truly enjoy a day of dance and music. The whole day dancing salsa with the viaDanza dance team and your travel group. We will be treated to a typical Creool meal and have Cuban cocktails all day. In the evening we will go back to Havana and say goodbye to the Salsa team of viaDanza.
Day 14) Last day in Havana
Today is yours! You can enjoy the rest of the city, maybe buy some souvenirs or just sit on a terrace and watch the Cuban daily life. Then it is time to say goodbye to everyone and we will transport you by bus to the airport from where you will fly home.
Day 15) Arrivel in Europe
Arrivel in Europe, at this moment it is "Goodbye Havana"
